Blooms & Views, Issue #1

One of my favorite things about my morning ritual is going around to each window and opening the shades. Everything seems new as it is unveiled at the start of each day. So I am on a mission to turn the sights I behold as I tie back each curtain and raise each shade into welcoming sights. With careful planning, the view from each window, whether tiny or expansive, can become a cheerful vignette. Blooms & Views will be a regular feature on my blog. Each week or two I'll show a favorite view from a window in my home, a favorite arrangement made from blooms I have picked from my yard, or a favorite spot in the garden.

In the spirit of humility and to remove all pretense (a quality I detest. . .I could do a whole post on that. . . but I won't . . . let me just say that I hate it when I detect pretentiousness in myself or others...blechhh!) I have decided to show one photo in each installment of Blooms & Views of an area on our property that has yet to be arranged in a pleasing manner. All of hubby's and my spare time has been devoted to renovating the inside of this big old house, and although we are far from finished, we have decided we desperately need to turn our attention to the outdoors and do some landscaping. Progress may be slow since we will do all the work ourselves. But with a little vision and a lot of blood, sweat and tears, we can achieve our dream. I invite you to come along with me over the next weeks, months, (years?!) as we transform this old neglected former vineyard into a garden of delights.

Hi Ann
I too enjoy that morning ritual. Especially if it is a sunny day, it floods the house with a welcome light. What an exciting project you have. Our back garden is a blank canvas waiting to be beautified! Will be putting some pics on one of my posts soon as it happens. Major work isn't it but oh the reward and satisfaction when it's finally done (how ever long that may take!)
Take care

Thank you so much for stopping by - don't be a stalker! LOVE your blog. Hopefully you felt that "lack of pretention" when visiting my basement laundry room.
Come on, I showed you mine. You show me yours!

PS - Is that door with the ANGELS YOURS??? I'm moving in. I MUST see more photos of your home.

Oh my gosh! I am so exited!!
You have such a fun blog! ~ And your name is Ann and you like vintage? This is just too cool.

What a post for you to come in on! Sorry if I came across as harsh.. I wish I didn't have to address that type of stuff, but unfortunately I do.

Your blog isn't private .. so you wouldn't have been blocked. :)
People can lurk.. it's the ones that come back everyday and I can't see who they are. It kind of worries me.. :)

I'm going to put you on my sidebar so I can remember to come back and visit.. If it is a problem.. let me know.

Thanks for dropping by so I could find you! ~ Ann Marie

PS; I am coveting your trip to that B&B.. The furniture is to DIE for! Love it!!

Parisienne Farmgirl: that may be taking lack of pretense a little too far . . . I have a few days to think about it . . .right?

Ann Marie: Of course I don't mind if you add me to your sidebar. It's sweet of you. I've added you to mine as well. Thank you for all of your nice comments.
